Final Push

Hi everybody, hope you're all well and have had a good season.

I've had a good season so far. I've got a new caddy which I'm delighted with because he is one of my close friends from Stoke-on-Trent. I've known Martin for about 20 years and we played at the same golf club together so when I finished with my old caddy I knew Martin would be perfect for me. He was working on the ladies tour and they had a week off so I asked him to come and work for me for one week. That was at the Barclays Scottish Open in Inverness. We had a great week, we finished about 49th which is not the best result but felt we got on great on the course and really worked well together. After that week I offered Martin the job and he has been with me ever since and he has made a massive change to my year.

Austria was the highlight of the year so far, I was playing well going in to the week and as over the past years I've always played well there. There were two goals this year though, I had to earn enough money to keep my card and I also had to try to win to get me into The Dunhill because for some reason a top ten wouldn't get me in. I felt like I played my best golf ever, It all seemed so easy. I hit a great 5 iron into 4 feet at the last and made the putt for force a play-off but unfortunately Ken made a birdie in the first extra hole to win. I was still delighted with my performance and it moved me to 102 on the Race to Dubai but since I've not been getting into many tournaments lately or getting and invites I've dropped down to 122.

I'm currently in West Palm Beach, Florida where I come to practice when I get a spare few week off. Old Palm Golf Club is amazing, the course and practice facilities and the best I've ever seen and all the staff are great, I get really well looked after here and I feel that it helps my game so much.. I'm back after this practice for a week then off to South Africa for the Dunhill and the SA Open. I need one more good week to keep my card for next year so looking forward to getting down there and after being here in Florida I feel my game is in top form.

Thanks for reading.

Until next time, keep swinging.
